How File Anti-Virus works

Files are scanned according to the following algorithm:

  • File Anti-Virus intercepts each access to a file by a user or an application.
  • The component idenifies whether the file is needed to be scanned by checking data in iChecker and iSwift databases.
  • If scanning the file is required, File Anti-Virus scans the file for viruses based on signature and heuristic analysis.
  • If a threat is detected, File Anti-Virus assigns one of the following statuses to the file:
    • A status of detected malware (virusTrojan).
    • The status of the possibly infected object if it is impossible to verify that the file is infected but the file is suspicious.
  • The notification about the detected threats appears on the screen (if display of notifications is configured).
  • If no threats are detected in the file, it becomes immediatly availble and accessible for work.
