Kaspersky Password Manager for iOS

Generate a strong password

The security of your data largely depends on the strength of your password. A password is considered strong if it contains at least 16 characters, including uppercase and lowercase Latin letters, digits, and special characters. Kaspersky Password Manager generates unique and strong passwords. You can specify the password length and choose whether to include digits, letters and special characters. You can use Password Generator when you create a new website account or change your password for an existing account.

Generate a strong password

  1. Unlock the vault by entering the main password and tapping Unlock.

If your device supports Touch ID/Face ID and this unlock method is enabled in the app settings, you can use it to unlock your vault instead of entering the main password.

  2. On the bottom tab bar, tap tools icon > Password Generator.

The Password Generator window opens, and the app generates a password using the default parameters.

  3. Change the password parameters if needed:
    • Tap Password Length to specify the number of characters to be used when generating passwords.
    • Turn on/off Uppercase Letters (A–Z) to use/not use uppercase letters during password generation. By default, this toggle switch is turned on.
    • Turn on/off Lowercase Letters (a–z) to use/not use lowercase letters during password generation. By default, this toggle switch is turned on.
    • Turn on/off Digits (0–9) to use/not use numerals during password generation. By default, this toggle switch is turned on.
    • Turn on/off Special Characters to use/not use special characters during password generation. By default, this toggle switch is turned on. You can add or delete special characters used during password generation in the field below the toggle switch.

For your convenience, we have excluded the following similar symbols from password generation: 0 (zero), O (capital o), I (capital i) and l (small L).

The app automatically generates a new password when the parameters are changed. If the strength of the generated password is medium or low, Kaspersky Password Manager notifies you below the password. Tap to generate a password again using the selected parameters.

  4. Tap Copy.

The app copies the generated password to the clipboard. You can manually paste the password into the required field. When you close the Password Generator window, the app saves the selected password parameters until the vault is unlocked.

To quickly generate passwords and copy them to the clipboard, you can also use the Passwords widget on your device's home screen. Find more information about adding widgets on the Apple support website.
