Grant the necessary permissions to Kaspersky Safe Kids
Kaspersky Safe Kids starts on your computer right after installation. To protect your Mac right away, the application prompts you to grant the necessary permissions to Kaspersky Safe Kids to provide complete protection of your children.

Note: An internet connection is required for basic setup of Kaspersky Safe Kids.
Start Kaspersky Safe Kids for the first time on a Mac running macOS 10.15
- In the Complete the Installation window, install the kernel extension, if you want Kaspersky Safe Kids to monitor real-time file activity, applications attempting to run on your Mac, and web traffic. To do this, click Install next to the Kernel extension item and follow the instructions on the screen.
Important: Kaspersky Safe Kids will not work properly without granting this permission.
- Click Continue.
The Sign In to My Kaspersky window opens and you can start the initial setup.
Start Kaspersky Safe Kids for the first time on a Mac running macOS 11 or later
- In the Complete the Installation window, do the following actions to ensure that Kaspersky Safe Kids functions properly:
- If you want Kaspersky Safe Kids to monitor real-time file activity and applications attempting to run on your Mac, install the system extension. To do this, click Install next to the System extension item and follow the instructions on the screen.
- If you want the Kaspersky Safe Kids application to work properly, allow the application to scan every file on your Mac. To do this, click Allow next to the Full disk access item and follow the instructions on the screen.
- If you want Kaspersky Safe Kids to inspect URLs and web traffic, allow network content filtering. To do this, click Allow next to the Network content filtering item and allow network content filtering in the dialog that opens.
- If you want Kaspersky Safe Kids to inspect encrypted HTTPS traffic, allow encrypted web traffic inspection. To do this, click Allow next to the Encrypted web traffic inspection item and install the trusted certificate in the dialog that opens.
Important: Kaspersky Safe Kids will not work properly without granting these permissions. You must grant all permissions in the Complete the Installation window.
- Click Continue.
The Sign In to My Kaspersky window opens and you can start the initial setup.
