Generate a strong password
The security of your data largely depends on the strength of your password. A password is considered strong if it contains at least 16 characters, including uppercase and lowercase Latin letters, digits, and special characters. Kaspersky Password Manager generates unique and strong passwords. You can specify the password length and choose whether to include digits, letters and special characters. You can use Password Generator when you create a new website account or change your password for an existing account.
- Open the Password Generator window in one of the following ways:
- In the main application window, click Password Generator.
- In a browser window, click the application icon
→ Password Generator.
- In a password field on a website, hover over the field or click the key icon
to invoke the Password Generator window.
The Password Generator window opens, and the application generates a password using the default settings.
- Change the password parameters if needed and press the circle arrows button
to generate the password.
The application indicates if the password strength is medium or low.
- If you want to save password generation parameters, select the Custom option on the Settings tab and specify the parameters you need. Your parameters will be saved even if you switch the tab or close the window.
